I'm looking to buy a Colt 1911 70 series MK IV with a 70G serial number that put the date of production around 1973. I understand that this pistol was made with a Collet barrel bushing. What I want to know 1. Are there any inherent issues with a 70G serial # pistols? Can the Collet barrel bushing be replaced with a regular barrel bushing? The offer I'm getting is great, but I'm not sure if I want to buy yet. On one hand you say you are looking to buy and on the other you say you are not sure you want to buy yet?
