Hi SketchUppers, As you likely know by now, we launched SketchUp 7 this week. The launch process has kept us pretty busy, and though we're definitely watching the groups, we're also working to make sure all the other support channels are up and running too.

Unfortunately this means we haven't been there to answer all of your questions, but I'm hoping to address at least a few of the issues you're having with getting licensed with Google SketchUp Pro 7. I've included some links to specific articles in our Help Center below as well as fielded some issues that have come up which aren't in the Help Center (yet). * I've tried to upgrade my license but am told there is 'No Record of this serial number' - The license must be valid, make sure it has the format aa-00-aaa. It must be a valid, active license to work. - The license must be active, you can only use the most currently activated license to upgrade to Google SketchUp Pro 7, if you have a SketchUp Pro 6 license (beginning with 'ka') then thats the license you must use to upgrade and an older license won't work (SketchUp 5 began with 'ja', SketchUp 4.0 with 'ia', etc.) Mac users of SketchUp Pro 6, please note that license generated shortly after SketchUp Pro 6 was launched were invalid and canceled at the time, you may have two SketchUp 6 licenses. If you have an OS X license for SketchUp Pro 6 be sure to check your email to be sure you have the most current, active license.

When upgrading your license we'll look at the email address currently associated with that license and send an email to that address with your new Google SketchUp Pro 7 license. Be sure to look on that email account for the email, you may want to look in your spam folder for that account to be sure we weren't filed away. Students and Educators, can update your currently active license at no additional charge. If you have an educational license simply visit and use your current license to upgrade. If your license is expired then you'll need to purchase a new educational license as per the normal process. Here are some other common issues that might come up: * Exceeded number of allowed users for network license This message will appear when the total instances of Google SketchUp Pro running is more than the total number of seats available for the license. It defaults to the free version. I requested the auth number, and updated it on a shared folder (according to Google's online directions). (I was working in SketchUp 6.) I open a brand new SketchUp file and everything's fine. Whenever I open a previously saved SketchUp file it does not say PRO.

I then have to set network license file (.lf) EVERYTIME I open an existing file. I also cannot open more than 1 SketchUp file. It tells me I'm exceeding users. So, I had thought that downloading 7 would remedy this problem.
