Hi all, Its been a while since ive installed a new server and as my server is still running the ' old' clearos i thought its time for an update with more drivespace. So i got myself a nice working second hand HP as stated above.

Whilst installing clear, either from CD or from USB i end up with a problem i can not seem to fix. After everything is installed to harddrive GRUB gets installed. And there things go wrong.

No matter what i choose, after installation (and reboot) the system decides freezing like an iceblock is the best thing to do when booting from the HDD. After a week of playing ' ludo' i decided screw this i install ubuntu, only to find i did that on HDD 2 and on HDD 1 there was clearos wich ubuntu nicely found and added to the grub boot menu i first did not see. Now this system boots and works, but i got it poluted with a linux distro i do not want on my system.

What i would like to know is: How do i get Clear installed (i need to use EDD=OFF whilst booting the installation script) to my harddrives? Is there something going wrong with grub, or do i need to keep running with this loonytunes way of a install? Thanks for the advice if u got any. (Im not to handy on the commandline, so please type it out).

I'm having issues getting Hyper-V RC to run on a new HP DL-320 G5 Server with a single Xeon 3050 processor and Windows 2008 Standard Edition x64. Brief outline: 1. I have configured enabled Intel VT and No-Execute in processor settings in the BIOS. Yeh Junoon Full Video Song Free Download. OS is set to US-locale in all areas (checked here. Download the latest drivers for your HP ProLiant DL320 G5 to keep your Computer up-to-date.

After grabbing a big hammer and reinstalling Clear for god knows how many times it now works. I dont know why, i did not change anything in the bios, just made a different partition table and it deciced it wanted to work. What did i change with the partition table? Ive made 2 swap partitions (1 on each drive FIRST) Ive made a raid partition for both /BOOT and / with enough room to make their workd go round Ive made a LVM partition for the other stuff and now it works. Dont know what i did wrong or why, but the important thing it it does its job now, hope it will keep doing that.

[quote] i need to find a way into the system fist [unquote] After a ClearOS install, using a live Linux CD that boots properly on your system you should be able to mount the ClearOS created file systems and:- 1. Check the file 'install.

Log' in the ClearOS root directory for errors 2. Check the log files (especially /var/log/messages and /var/log/dmesg) in the ClearOS /var/log/ directory 3. Verify and modify the ClearOS '/boot/grub/grub.conf' with appropriate kernel boot parameters I use the CD from.

You will need to find one that suits your particular hardware. Does disk activity stop the instant you get the black screen? There is a problem on some systems whereby the screen goes black, but the system continues to boot and works - just a blank black display. Search the forums here for several appends regarding this problem.

Fake or real hardware? There is a fake RAID on the MB, That is currently not in use (off) If no raid card then disks attached to motherboard? - if so, is BIOS set-up for raid? Disks are attached to MB. Bios raid controller is turned on, but raid is not being used Can you turn off all hardware/fake raid - use AHCI instead and use software raid?

Tried that, was unsuccesfull in booting from there Is the motherboard BIOS the latest? - same for BIOS/Firmware on any disk controller, if exists MB has been fully upgraded with latest HP Bios Disk type? IDE, SCSI, SATA, SAS? Dual SATA 1.5 TB hot swappable disks The more information the better, and lastly are you asking how to add 'EDD=OFF' to the system once installed so that it is permanently active on boot up? Didn't quite understand what you are saying in your second last paragraph. Only if that solves my problem yes, but that still means i need to find a way into the system fist.

Curretly it passes the bios ilo raid controler and LAN boot, it gives its normal beep from bios etc passed then starts booting and turns into an icecube with a black screen. Unfortunately that doesnt give me much info to work with. After this juck ubuntu setup it boots into a normal boot menu like im used to and runs. Know nothing about that HP hardware - but a question or two to stimulate research. Are you using a raid card controller in the machine, if so which one? Aunsoft Video Converter Free.

I have a problem. The old version that install of Windows 2008 Server was not a version MUI, that is to say, only allowed the language of Installation in English. Following the steps indicated in this post, in the part of “Update: Installing Windows and maintaining files, settings and applications”, I get this error: 1) “You can not perform a typical upgrade with an installation disc that has a language other than the one installed on your computer. Go to to see how to install Windows and preserve the files and settings “. When I visit the link only in the recommendations of Windows 7 If I try Advanced Setup, I get this error: 2) “Windows can not copy files required for installation Files may be checked or missing Make sure all files required for installation are available and restart the installation Error code: 0x80070017” What can I do in that case??
